Ruth is a certified practising Speech Pathologist with over twenty years experience working with adults to assess and manage swallowing and communication difficulties. Ruth specialises in neurodegenerative conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, Parkinson Plus, Primary Progressive Aphasia, language variant Alzheimer’s and Dystonia as well as neurological disorders such as stroke and traumatic brain injury. Ruth also specialises in treating voice disorders such as muscle tension dysphonia, vocal tremor, vocal nodules and post vocal surgery for voice rehabilitation.
Ruth strives to understand each individual client’s needs and goals so she can provide a personal service. She also aims to make sessions fun and enjoyable, as life is too short for it to be boring! Ruth always works holistically with other medical and allied health providers to ensure a comprehensive service.
Ruth is committed to life-long learning and development of her skills. She is a member of the Laryngology Society of Australasia and Speech Pathology Australia and frequently attends professional development courses.
Ruth is accredited with all health funds, most aged care providers, Medicare, NDIS, DVA and Short Term Restorative Care services.
